Music Events Management Course at Strode College

Music Events Management is a growing area in music education with courses starting up with BIMM in Bristol and Brighton as well as many other HE establishments. It seems as though there are plenty of opportunities out there whether it be organizing events at clubs, music venues or starting up festivals. The Somerset area is a real 'hotspot' for music festivals with one or two happening every weekend over the summer months.

The subject is now part of the BTEC L3 Music Technology course at Strode College in Street, Somerset. Students will work together in small production teams or individually to organise and promote a music related event.

Recent events organized by Strode College Music Tech students
'Oxjam' at the Red Brick Building in Glastonbury organized by Gary Smith
'Eventide' at the Red Brick Building in Glastonbury organized by Madi Mwanza
'We Want' at Basement 45 in Bristol and Art Bar in Oxford organized by Harry Brookesbank

We also are proud to say that the extremely popular bath based organization 'PTS' is run by one of our ex music tech students Scott Linton. They organize regular web streams and live events in Bath and Bristol and this year they have a stage at Bath Fest
