The Cabinet of Dr Caligari

Tickets are now on sale and rehearsals have started. Audio and photos will be posted soon...

Students studying the BTEC National Diploma in Music Technology at Strode College produce a large scale performance each year that challenges their creativity and develops their technical skills in the use of music software and hardware. This year they are performing a live soundtrack to a silent film.

The Cabinet of Dr Caligari is a silent masterpiece of German expressionist cinema that uses painted, distorted sets to create a weird world where insanity and reality mix with a surprising final twist. The soundtrack will draw from a wide range of modern musical influences and will be improvised live using Decks, software electronics, guitars, drums and anything else we can get hold of.
