Broken Identity record tracks at Strode studios

BTEC Music Technology students studying at Strode College are given a recording project each year. This often includes recording local bands and bands from local schools. The most recent session was on Monday 24th of May 2010 and involved a band called ‘Broken Identity’ from Wells Blue School. The musicians are Matt Carter on guitars and Aidan Turner on drums. The group recorded two full songs in the college sound studios with the session being run by second year students Levi Minett and Sam Hadfield. The day went very well with some high quality music being recorded and everything running to schedule.

Music video location shoot

Music video location shoot at Tor Leisure in Glastonbury. Wednesday 3rd of March 2010

BTEC ND in Music Technology students are given an assignment to produce a music video to promote an artist or band. Each student records the artist in the music studios, mixes the tracks and then produce a CD for sale or online download. To promote their music product they also produce a music video. This trip allowed the students to plan and set up the video studio equipment on location. They created some great footage that they can now use in their final music videos.

On the day the students took on specific roles including video producer, vision mixer, camera persons, lights and sound. The group worked well as a team and produced some great footage for their music videos. Watch the finished videos
